Artistic use of composites
In collaboration with sculptor Henrik Fischer, the neighborhood association Tre-i-en has created the artwork Dancing Flowers. The artwork is to be seen as a tribute to potter Heinrich Hans Andreas Graack (1856-1948). Graack owned Graack Pottery and was, as the only one in Denmark, specialized in manufacturing of flower platters. The artwork has been inspired by these platters.
The neighborhood association has a vision for creating a design district, where to celebrate heritage and the enterprising people, who helped form the city of Kolding many years ago. The work was subsidized by the Municipality of Kolding.
The artwork has been made of fiberglass, polyester, topcoat and hardener, supplied by ICOM Composites A/S – and is a perfect example that composites can also be used for an artistic expression.
At ICOM Composites A/S we are very pleased to have supplied the composite-materials for the artwork – and congratulates the neighborhood association and the City of Kolding on the new artwork, which will hopefully make people smile and flourish all year.
